The appearance of the route changes every day
At the end of August 2026, at the Ring Road 1 project site, Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section, contractors are speeding up construction with many clear changes. Most of the road surface has been formed, many sections have been asphalted, painted, and lane-lined; the green tree and lighting system is gradually being completed.
In the remaining areas, contractors focus on completing sidewalks, manholes and technical trenches. The construction site is changing day by day, bringing hope to people living along the route.
Sharing with reporters, Mr. Hoang Van Hieu (resident of Lang street) said that in the past, the area often experienced traffic congestion. The project's prolonged implementation makes people look forward to the road completion day.
The road makes the city's landscape more spacious, and traffic in the area will also be more convenient" - Mr. Hieu said.
Project worth nearly 7,800 billion VND accelerates to reach the finish line
Ring Road 1 project, Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section is more than 2.2km long, with a cross-section of 50m, passing through 3 wards O Cho Dua, Giang Vo and Lang.
After more than 8 months of accelerating construction, many items have had clear changes. At the Hoang Cau - Lang Ha section, the road surface is basically completed. The Voi Phuc - Nguyen Chi Thanh section has been asphalted, painted with road markings, completed with green trees and lighting systems.
The section from Nguyen Chi Thanh to Thanh Cong street, about 750m long, has been asphalted. To aim for the goal of technical traffic opening before September 2, construction units are focusing manpower and equipment, speeding up the completion progress of items.
According to Mr. Tran Dinh Cuong - Director of the Hanoi City Civil Works Construction Investment Project Management Board, the investor and contractors are focusing on implementing the goal of technical traffic opening on National Day September 2nd.
Mr. Cuong informed that the unit is coordinating with contractors to overcome difficulties caused by weather to accelerate construction, striving to complete and technically open traffic on National Day September 2nd.
According to the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee, sections that fully meet technical conditions will be studied for traffic organization, for vehicles to circulate to promote investment efficiency, contributing to reducing congestion. To organize traffic, items such as lighting, road markings, lane separation and technical safety infrastructure must be inspected, ensuring the necessary conditions.
The Department of Construction is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Traffic Police force, local authorities and specialized units to review the road. Only safe sections are organized for traffic opening.
Hanoi City has directed very clearly, whichever section is eligible must allow vehicles to circulate immediately to contribute to reducing congestion. The Board will continue to coordinate with departments, agencies, and sectors, especially the Department of Construction, to organize traffic on the route in the best way" - Mr. Tran Dinh Cuong emphasized.
Besides the road section, two overpasses at Lang Ha and Nguyen Chi Thanh intersections are also being promoted for construction, with the goal of completion in 2026. The major difficulty currently lies at Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection, where the Ring Road 1 overpass project intersects and overlaps with the underground urban railway project below.
To handle obstacles, the Hanoi City Civil Works Construction Investment Project Management Board is coordinating with the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board and relevant departments and agencies.
The Department of Construction is presiding over coordination to unify construction solutions, both ensuring the progress of Ring Road 1 project, and avoiding impacts and ensuring safety for the urban railway project.
The removal of obstacles and acceleration of the Ring Road 1 project, Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section, is being focused on by relevant units, aiming to complete according to the plan, contributing to creating clear changes in traffic, meeting the travel needs of people. This is also a premise for Hanoi City to continue to effectively implement technical infrastructure, transportation and urban embellishment projects in the coming time.
