Maintaining family tradition from veteran party members
At the age of 93, with 59 years of Party membership, Mr. Lo Van Khien (Hat 2 village, Hanh Phuc commune, Lao Cai province) still maintains a simple and regular lifestyle like many years ago. A day of a veteran party member begins very early.
The sky in the highlands was still foggy, Mr. Khien woke up, slowly started the stove, warmed water to make tea. The familiar cup of hot tea not only helped him stay awake but also was a moment of silence to think about his family, about the village - where he had been attached for his whole life.
After that, he continued his daily work: taking care of his wife who had accompanied him for many years - Mrs. Lo Thi Uong.
In the small house, every familiar corner is imprinted with the difficult years. Despite his old age, he still arranges and cleans it himself.

Short but warm phone calls are still maintained by him to ask about and remind his children and grandchildren to take care of their health, live exemplary lives, and do good deeds. For him, it is not only family affection but also a way to maintain the family tradition of a family with many party members.
Mentioning Mr. Lo Van Khien and Mrs. Lo Thi Uong, people in Hanh Phuc commune (formerly Tram Tau district) know them not only for the "record" of having 18 children, but also for the way they raise their children and grandchildren to adulthood.
Born and raised in highland conditions with many difficulties, Mr. Khien was educated early, participated in literacy work and was admitted to the Party in 1967.
Having held many positions such as Commune Military Commander, Commune Police Chief, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee..., he always maintained the qualities of a Party member, dedicated to the people and villages.

Although the family has many children, life was once very hard, worrying about each meal, but they always focused on teaching their children to live properly, stay away from social evils, and study hard and work hard.
From family tradition to grown children
Mr. Lo Van Khien's family has a total of 20 members, of which 15 are party members, including 13 children and two grandparents, a remarkable number for a highland family.
From the foundation of family education, many children have grown up, become officials, teachers... contributing to building the locality.
Mr. Lo Van Lien, the youngest son, currently the principal of a multi-level high school, shared: "I am very proud of the family tradition. Although there are many siblings, everyone is well-nourished; if not a cadre, they are also exemplary party members at their place of residence.

Not only stopping at the child generation, that tradition also spreads to the grandchild and great-grandchild generations.
According to Mr. Lo Van Tien - Secretary of the Party Cell of Hat 2 village, Mr. Khien's family is one of the leading families in party member development.
In Hat 2 village, Mr. Khien's family contributed 13 party members. "I myself am also Mr. Khien's nephew, in this party branch, the whole clan has many party members participating in activities" - Mr. Tien said.
Not only that, Mr. Khien's family is also the core force in local movements, from sports, culture and arts to propaganda work.
In campaigns to protect forests, manage forests or merge administrative units, his family always actively participated and contributed opinions, helping people better understand the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State.

At the age of 93, after phone calls asking about his children and grandchildren, Mr. Khien still maintains a simple rhythm of life. But in every word and deed, he always reminds the next generation to unite, be exemplary, and actively study and build their homeland.
From a highland farming family, Mr. Lo Van Khien and Mrs. Lo Thi Uong have built a precious tradition, taking the example of the previous generation to lead the next generation to continue striving and contributing.
It is this simplicity, dedication and sense of responsibility that has created a sustainable spread, helping the family become a bright spot in the work of developing party members at the grassroots level.
