According to the overall plan for rearranging and reorganizing villages and residential groups in Gia Lai province in 2026, the whole province is expected to reduce from 2,693 to 1,400 villages and residential groups, reducing 1,293 units, equivalent to 48.01%.
After arrangement, the province plans to rearrange 3,604 non-specialized personnel in villages and residential groups; the surplus is about 2,760 people.
For the team of people directly participating in activities in villages and residential groups, it is expected to rearrange 8,380 people, an excess of about 5,962 people.
Thus, the total number of people operating in villages and residential groups expected to be redundant after arrangement is 8,722 people.
The whole province currently has about 2,812 cultural houses and community activity houses. After arrangement, it is expected that 1,400 facilities will continue to be used as main activity points for new villages and residential groups; the remaining 1,412 facilities will be maintained as residential cluster activity points or serve other public tasks.
For degraded works that do not ensure safety or no longer need to be used, the commune-level People's Committee is responsible for assessing the current status, proposing plans for repair, renovation, change of land use purpose, transfer, dismantling or handling of assets according to regulations. Localities are not allowed to arbitrarily lease, lend, transfer, subcontract or use for wrong purposes.
For community houses and cultural houses selected as the main activity points of new villages and residential groups, the commune-level People's Committee shall hand over them for management, exploitation and use according to the promulgated or approved regulations.
These works must serve community activities, political, cultural, sports activities, legal propaganda, voter contact, grassroots mediation, disaster prevention and control and other public tasks.
Facilities that are not selected as main activity points but still ensure conditions of use will be prioritized to be arranged as residential cluster activity points, community learning points, places to organize cultural and sports activities, legal propaganda, evacuation of people in case of natural disasters, serving the activities of grassroots organizations according to actual needs.
The province requires that the management and exploitation of projects after arrangement must ensure thrift, efficiency, publicity, and transparency; attaching the responsibility of commune-level People's Committees, Party Cell Secretaries, Village Heads, Neighborhood Group Leaders, Fatherland Front Committees and residential communities in managing and protecting assets.
