On September 12, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested units and localities to proactively respond to tropical depressions and heavy rain, floods, inundation, flash floods, and landslides.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 AM on September 12, the center of the tropical depression was about 150km southwest of the Hoang Sa special zone. The strongest wind near the center was level 6, gusting to level 8; moving in the northwest direction at a speed of about 10km/h.

Forecast until 7:00 AM on September 13, tropical depression in the sea area of Hue - Da Nang, intensity level 6, gusts level 8. The sea area from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai has strong winds, big waves, and rough seas.

On land, from the evening of September 11th to September 12th, the eastern part of Gia Lai province and the Central Highlands will have 30-60mm of rain, locally over 100mm.

The Hydrometeorological Department assessed that from September 10-17, the Central provinces are likely to experience a widespread period of moderate to heavy rain, with rain centers from Ha Tinh to Gia Lai, accompanied by the risk of floods, flash floods, landslides, inundation and localized division.

Faced with this development, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested units and localities to closely monitor the tropical depression; manage vehicles going out to sea, organize counting and notify ships and boats operating at sea of their location and direction of movement to proactively prevent, not to enter dangerous areas and find safe shelter.

At the same time, review and specifically identify areas along rivers, streams, low-lying areas and places at risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides; be ready with forces and vehicles to evacuate and relocate people to safe places.

Materials, food, necessities, and medicine must be prepared according to the "4 on-site" motto, ready to respond to situations of heavy rain, flooding, and prolonged division.

At culverts, spillways, bridges, deeply flooded road sections, fast-flowing water and areas where landslides have occurred or are at risk, localities must organize guards, put up warning signs, control and guide traffic; do not let people and vehicles pass when safety is not ensured.

The province also requested to inspect the safety of reservoirs, dams, downstream areas and construction projects, especially key projects that are having incidents.

For communes and wards that have been damaged by heavy rain in recent days, the Provincial People's Committee requested to urgently mobilize forces to overcome and continue to review points at risk of landslides and flooding to proactively handle them.
