Gia Lai identifies Quy Nhon area as a growth pole, a driving force for the province's development; orienting development according to the "one entity - many drivers" model.

On June 23, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan had concluded on the planning and socio-economic development plan for wards and communes in Quy Nhon area.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon Dong, Quy Nhon Tay, Quy Nhon Nam, Quy Nhon Bac wards and Nhon Chau commune hold particularly important positions in socio-economic, national defense - security; are the driving force for the development of trade, services, tourism, marine economy and urban areas of the province.

With advantages in history, culture and strategic position, Quy Nhon area is identified as the economic locomotive, growth pole and development center of Gia Lai.

After 1 year of operating the 2-level local government model, the local apparatus is basically stable and operating smoothly; many key projects and works have been focused on removing difficulties and accelerating progress.

However, according to the province's assessment, the results achieved are still not commensurate with the potential, advantages and central role of the Quy Nhon area. The linkage and coordination between localities in organizing the common development space is still not close.

On that basis, the province determined to develop Quy Nhon according to the mindset of "one entity - many motivations", the wards and communes belonging to the old Quy Nhon City are a unified development space, with connection and mutual support.

According to the orientation, Quy Nhon ward plays the role of the central urban core, developing high-quality trade, services, tourism, night economy, pedestrian streets, marinas and coastal highlight projects.

Quy Nhon Dong ward develops marine economy, sea and island tourism, services along Thi Nai lagoon, fishery logistics and other unique tourism products.

Meanwhile, Quy Nhon Tay ward will become a new development space for industry, logistics, environmental infrastructure, land fund and resettlement areas serving the province's key projects.

Quy Nhon Bac and Quy Nhon Nam wards develop new urban areas, high-quality services and tourism, connecting infrastructure and expand urban development space.

Nhon Chau commune develops ecotourism and community tourism in a differentiated class direction, associated with marine ecosystem conservation, natural landscapes, traditional cultural values and ensuring national defense - security in the coastal border area.

Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested localities to urgently review all conclusions and directions of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee related to the old Quy Nhon City to concretize them into tasks and implementation solutions. Contents that have been approved must be focused on implementation, avoiding the situation of many directions but slow implementation, prolonged for many years.

Heads of localities must directly direct the removal of bottlenecks in planning, land, compensation, site clearance and key projects; proactively coordinate with departments and branches to handle difficulties and obstacles, not avoid or shirk responsibility.

Urgently review and update the general plans of wards and communes, sub-area plans, detailed plans, especially proactively coordinate with the Department of Construction to complete the Quy Nhon expanded urban general plan; clearly identify development land funds, revenue-generating land funds, priority investment areas and new development spaces of each locality...
