On September 15, information from the Kien Giang Maritime Port Authority said that due to bad weather, gusts of wind at level 7 and level 8, the weather at sea has turned bad, ferries from the mainland to Phu Quoc, Nam Du and vice versa have temporarily suspended operations until further notice.
Accordingly, ferries have temporarily suspended operations on routes such as Rach Gia, Ha Tien to Phu Quoc, Nam Du and vice versa. The Rach Gia to Hon Son route and vice versa, managed by the Inland Port Authority, is still operating normally.
After receiving the notice, the shipping lines notified passengers and agents to change the schedule to ensure passenger safety.
According to the forecast of the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, today and tonight, the sea area from Ca Mau to Kien Giang and Phu Quoc will have strong winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8. There is a warning of upcoming showers and thunderstorms, with the possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
Previously, on September 6, all high-speed trains and ferries to Kien Giang islands were temporarily suspended due to the influence of storm No. 3.
