The Thuong Cat Bridge project has a total length of the bridge and roads at both ends of the bridge of 5.226km, of which the main bridge is 780m long; the approach bridge is 3.125km long; the roads at both ends of the bridge are 1.321km long; the total estimated investment is more than VND 7,300 billion.
Thuong Cat Bridge is designed with 8 lanes (6 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 rudimentary lanes), the width of the main bridge is 35m, the approach bridge is 31m; the southern approach road has a typical cross-section of 60m, (6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 rudimentary lanes on the main route, and 2 parallel roads). According to the plan, the location has been approved by the Hanoi People's Committee, the starting point of the project is located at the intersection with Ky Vu Street, Thuong Cat Ward (old Bac Tu Liem District) - now Thuong Cat Ward. The end point is at the intersection with Road 23B, in Dai Mach commune, Dong Anh district (old) - now Thien Loc commune.
The underpass at the Co Linh intersection that is about to start construction has a total length of about 600m, of which the closed tunnel is 100m long, the open tunnel is about 260m; the retaining wall and the road edge is 240m, connecting to Dam Quang Trung Street and the Vinh Tuy bridgehead road.
According to the design, the tunnel cross-section is 27m wide, with 6 lanes; at the same time, sidewalks will be cut, the median strip will be adjusted, and the right and left lanes of the roads around the intersection will be expanded to the maximum. The project has a total investment of nearly 750 billion VND.
After completion, the Co Linh intersection - Vinh Tuy bridge approach road will have 3 levels of road, including overpass, road at the existing intersection and underpass.
The investment in the project aims to close Ring Road 2 according to the plan, resolve conflicts at intersections, connect connections between surrounding routes, gradually complete the traffic infrastructure system, and reduce environmental pollution.
With the investment project to build the Hanoi urban railway line No. 2, Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao section, the project is 11.5km long, with 8.9km underground and 2.6km elevated. This metro line has 7 underground stations and 3 elevated stations.
