Widespread heavy rain on the morning of August 24 caused localized flooding in some areas. Hanoi Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company has mobilized 100% of its forces, vehicles and operated maximum key pumping stations to quickly lower the water level on the system.
Due to the influence of the intertropical convergence zone connected to storm No. 4, on the morning of August 24, Hanoi experienced widespread heavy rain. According to Hanoi Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company, by 6 am on the same day, heavy rain had caused localized flooding in some areas.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Toan - Deputy General Director of Hanoi Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company said that through inspection until 6 am, some deep flooding points have appeared in the Ha Dong area (old), such as HH2 Duong Noi overpass, underpass No. 5, underpass No. 6 and underpass Km9+656.
The flood level at these locations is commonly from 40-50cm, affecting people's travel.
Faced with the above situation, Hanoi Drainage Company has stretched warning ropes and arranged forces to divert traffic at deeply flooded locations. At the same time, the unit contacted Dao Nguyen and Cau Sa pumping stations to request increased operating capacity.
To proactively respond to heavy rain, from 5 am on August 24, Hanoi Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company deployed forces to be on duty throughout the area.
Workers are arranged in key areas to collect and pick up garbage at collection stations, open the drainage gates of regulating lakes and maximize the operation of large central pumping stations such as Yen So, Co Nhue, Dong Bong, Cau Chui, Ha Tri, Mau Luong, Phuc Dong, Van Phuc... to quickly lower the water level on the inner city drainage system.
At Yen Xa wastewater treatment pumping station, the electrical incident at transformer station T2 that occurred on the morning of August 24 has been fixed. Technical forces are continuing to handle some electrical equipment at the input waste separation tunnel.
During this time, the input was closed, and the pumping station temporarily stopped operating. However, workers still maintained 100% duty, continuously collecting garbage, ensuring environmental sanitation.
Up to now, Hanoi continues to have rain. Hanoi Drainage Company Limited is maintaining 100% of its forces and vehicles on duty, closely monitoring weather developments to promptly handle flooding points," said Mr. Pham Ngoc Toan.
