In the context of Can Tho city promoting investment in transport infrastructure to create motivation for socio-economic development in the Mekong Delta (Mekong Delta), many key projects are being implemented with high requirements for progress, quality and disbursement efficiency. After merging and consolidating the organization, the Project Management Board (PMB) for investment in construction of transport and agricultural works of Can Tho City continues to play a core role in operating and organizing the implementation of key projects.

Mr. Le Minh Cuong - Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transport and Agriculture Works of Can Tho City said that immediately after the merger, the unit quickly stabilized the apparatus, ensuring no interruption of project management and operation activities.
According to Mr. Cuong, the Board has reviewed and arranged the organization in the direction of streamlining, clarifying people, clarifying tasks, and clarifying responsibilities; specifically assigning officials to be in charge of each project, especially key and urgent projects. Regulations on coordination between professional departments have been issued, standardizing the process of handling work to avoid overlap and shorten the time to resolve dossiers.
We maintain full operational hubs, strengthen direct work at the site, and promptly handle arising issues. Thanks to that, the progress of projects is basically kept stable, without being affected by the process of organizational consolidation," Mr. Cuong informed.

One of the major difficulties currently is site clearance work. According to the Board's leaders, this is still a "bottleneck" directly affecting the construction progress. Faced with this reality, the Board has proactively advised the City People's Committee to issue appropriate mechanisms according to its authority, and at the same time closely coordinated with localities to remove each specific case, especially households that still have problems and complaints.
At the same time, the unit regularly reviews new legal regulations, proposes to adjust investment procedures in a streamlined direction but still ensures compliance with regulations. Regarding fluctuations in construction material prices, especially sand and stone - sensitive factors in the Mekong Delta region - the Board closely monitors market developments, promptly updates and adjusts according to regulations to ensure the feasibility of the project and the legitimate rights of contractors.
In the complex geological and hydrological conditions characteristic of the riverine region, the Steering Committee strengthens surveys, applies appropriate technical solutions such as treating weak soil foundations, loading, and drainage; organizes rolling construction, flexibly according to each section of the route. At locations where there is clean ground, contractors are required to mobilize maximum manpower and equipment to compensate for the progress of the remaining blocked sections.

Mr. Le Minh Cuong informed that, entering 2026, the Board determines to continue to focus resources on large projects, including component projects belonging to the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway and intra-regional and inter-regional connectivity works. The goal is to complete important milestones according to the direction of the Government and the city, ensuring technical quality, investment efficiency and capital disbursement rate according to the assigned plan.
Along with accelerating progress, the Board emphasized the requirement to tighten discipline and order in project management; strengthen inspection and supervision of the site; proactively prevent and control arising risks.
Maintaining infrastructure circuits and accelerating the construction of key transport projects not only contributes to changing the urban appearance but also creates a foundation for Can Tho to improve connectivity capacity, attract investment, and gradually affirm the central dynamic role of the Mekong Delta region in the new development phase.
