In the last days before the military service ceremony, the small house in Tan Phuoc Tay village, Tu Bong commune, Khanh Hoa province is busier than usual.
That is where twin brothers Duong Tan Minh and Duong Tan Thai (18 years old) are busy preparing luggage to enlist.
Born and raised in a coastal countryside with many difficulties, Minh and Thai soon became accustomed to independent life.
After graduating from high school, both went to work in Nha Trang ward to help their families and have additional income to cover living expenses.

Although the job has gradually stabilized, when the locality issued an order to conduct military service medical examination, the two brothers together wrote a voluntary enlistment application.
Sharing before leaving, Minh said he wanted to challenge himself in the military environment, train discipline, will and make a small contribution to protecting the Fatherland.
As for Thai, the decision to wear the green uniform is not only a citizen's responsibility but also an opportunity to grow up.
Age 18 only comes once. I want my youthful years to be meaningful," Thai expressed.
On the day of receiving the admission results, the two brothers quickly arranged work in Nha Trang ward to return to their hometown to prepare for a new journey.
The family atmosphere mixed with pride and reluctance. The mother quietly prepared clothes, instructing her children to take care of their health, unite with their teammates, and strictly comply with unit discipline.
Relatives and neighbors also came to visit, encourage, and place their trust in the two young men.
Wearing the newly issued uniform, Minh and Thai could not hide their emotions.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Hoat - Commander of Tu Bong Commune Military Command, the fact that twin brothers volunteered to enlist has created a positive effect among local youth, contributing to improving the quality of military recruitment work this year.
Before leaving, both shared a promise to strive to study, train, and complete all assigned tasks well, worthy of the trust of family and homeland.
