Together writing dreams in soldier uniforms
Born and raised in a family in Tang Long village, Tinh Khe commune, Quang Ngai, twin brothers Do Tan Hanh and Do Tan Phuc (born in 2004) have always accompanied each other in their studies and life since childhood. After graduating from Phuong Dong College (Da Nang), instead of choosing to look for a job immediately, both decided to temporarily put aside their personal plans to jointly write applications to volunteer for military service.
For Hanh and Phuc, the military environment is not only a training environment but also a dream nurtured from childhood. The image of Uncle Ho's soldier in family tradition stories, in local union activities, soon sowed in the hearts of the two brothers the desire to contribute.
Do Tan Hanh shared: "After graduating, the two brothers determined that military service is a sacred duty of citizens to the Fatherland. With family support and encouragement, both became even more confident in going on the road." Hanh expressed her desire to be trained in a high-discipline environment of the army to become more mature and complete all assigned tasks well.
Hanh and Phuc's family has three sons. Older brother Do Tan Dung (born in 2000) was enlisted in 2018 at Brigade 957 under Naval Region 4. After serving in the army, Dung returned to his locality with a mature demeanor, discipline and high sense of responsibility, becoming a role model for his two younger siblings to follow.

Mr. Do Boi, father of the three brothers, emotionally said: "Two twins have been attached to each other since childhood. Now that they are of military service age, the children voluntarily registered, the family is very supportive and proud. Contributing a small part to the task of building and protecting the Fatherland is an honor for the whole family.
Van Tuong commune also recorded beautiful images of twin pairs volunteering to join the army. In Tan Hy 2 village, two brothers Lam Hoang Manh and Lam Hoang Cuong (born in 2007) were born on the same day, grew up together and now continue to stand side by side in an important milestone of youth.
Van Tuong is a land rich in revolutionary traditions of Quang Ngai province. Growing up in a proud atmosphere of homeland history, educated about the heroic traditions of previous generations, Manh and Cuong soon formed a sense of responsibility to the country.
The decision to enlist at the same time of twin pairs not only shows blood ties but also shows a deep awareness of civic responsibility. While according to the Law on Military Service, if a family has two siblings of the same age enlisting, one person can be temporarily suspended while the siblings are serving in the army, many young people in Quang Ngai still actively write voluntary applications. They are willing to put aside personal interests to contribute together.
The synchronous involvement of the entire political system
According to local leaders, the fact that many young people, especially twin brothers, volunteer to join the army is a welcome sign in the 2026 military recruitment work, which is the first year of implementing the two-level government model in the locality.
Mr. Ung Dinh Hien, Chairman of Van Tuong Commune People's Committee, said that among the total number of young people implementing the conscription order, the locality has 37 young people writing voluntary applications; in which many young people are eligible to officially participate on a voluntary basis. Notably, two twin brothers jointly wrote applications for military service in this phase. This is proof of the active involvement of the Party Committee, government, mass organizations and especially the consensus of families and young people in performing the military recruitment task.
Propaganda and traditional education are focused on by the locality, especially in Youth Union and Association meetings, meetings with young people preparing to set off. The examples of predecessors, specific stories such as families of brothers joining the army have created a strong spread, arousing pride and the pioneering spirit of local youth, Mr. Hien added.
In order to ensure that the 2026 military service handover ceremony is organized tightly, in accordance with regulations, safely and completes the assigned targets, the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command has organized inspections of preparation work in localities in the province. Localities are urgently completing the final preparations, ready for the military service handover day to take place solemnly, meaningfully and successfully.
According to the plan, Quang Ngai will organize a troop handover ceremony on the morning of March 4, 2026 for 3,935 young people at 9 locations.
