On the morning of August 20, leaders of Nghi Loc Commune People's Committee (Nghe An province) said that the police agency is verifying the cause of death of two young girls who are biological sisters.
The two victims are baby Hoang An N. (born in 2023) and Hoang Ngoc L. (born in 2025), both residing in Nghi Loc commune.
According to initial information from relatives, at about 7 pm on August 18, the mother of the two children took the children to a friend's house in the old Quan Hanh town area to play.
At about 2 am on August 19, the two babies showed symptoms of vomiting, and their health deteriorated. Relatives then took the two babies to the hospital for emergency treatment in critical condition.
Despite being rescued by doctors, at about 1:30 pm on the same day, both babies did not survive.
After the incident occurred, functional agencies intervened to verify and clarify the cause of the incident.
According to relatives, the two children's families are in difficult circumstances. Local people have donated and supported the family with treatment costs and funeral arrangements for the two children.
