On the afternoon of August 19, Hanoi City Police informed about the fire at Viet Nhat Motorcycle Disc Drum Production Co., Ltd., address: Ngoc Hoa Industrial and Handicraft Point, Chuong My ward, Hanoi city.
Accordingly, at about 10:23 am on August 19, the 114 Command Information Center - Hanoi City Police received a report of a fire at Viet Nhat Company.
Immediately after receiving the fire report, the City Police Command Information Center mobilized 8 fire trucks, 2 command vehicles, 1 truck carrying vehicles, 2 CNCH vehicles along with 66 officers and soldiers of the Fire and Rescue Teams of areas No. 2, 4, 15, 28, 33 under the Fire and Rescue Police Department - Hanoi City Police and requested the Fire and Rescue Police Department - Phu Tho Provincial Police to mobilize 1 fire truck and CBCS of the Fire and Rescue Team of Luong Son area to support.
At about 10:29 am, the Fire and Rescue Police force was present at the scene; at this time, the fire had developed very large, with a lot of toxic smoke, flammable materials mainly wood, plastic, solvents,... with the risk of fire spreading, large fires to neighboring areas (according to initial information, the time of free fire before the Fire and Rescue Police force received information was about nearly 1 hour), the units were divided into many teams to approach and extinguish the fire, prevent fire from spreading and search for victims.
After a period of efforts in search and rescue and firefighting, at about 11:25 am on the same day, the fire was controlled, with no possibility of spreading, rescuing many properties and preventing it from spreading to adjacent factories.
During the search and rescue process, the Fire and Rescue Police force discovered 3 bodies in the factory area; 3 people were injured: B.V. D (born 1986), K.T.A (born 2008), V.N. T (born 1987); in which K.T.A was slightly injured, stable health and had returned home.
By about 12:05 pm, the fire was completely extinguished.
According to initial information, the facility violated fire prevention and fighting regulations, has been suspended from operation since October 2021 and has been administratively sanctioned for failing to comply with the suspension decision.
Currently, functional forces are urgently investigating and identifying the victims and the cause of the fire for handling according to the provisions of law.
