An important link in planning Vietnam's coastal roads
On September 7, the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that it had just started the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh Coastal Road project, phase IIb, section Km76+230 - Km82+00. This is a project to celebrate the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
The Dung Quat - Sa Huynh Coastal Road Project, phase IIb, section Km76+230 - Km82+000 (from the intersection of DH37 road, passing through Mo Cay commune and Lan Phong commune to the fields of Tra Cau ward, is nearly 5.8km long and is invested by the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
The road is designed according to the standards of a level II plain road, with a 12m wide roadbed, an 11m wide road surface, and a two-layer asphalt concrete structure. The total investment is more than 98 billion VND, from the central and provincial budgets. Construction time is from 2025 - 2026.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sam - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, this is an important component project in the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh Coastal Road project, over 100km long. The project is an important link in the planning of the coastal route of Vietnam, connecting infrastructure in the Central region. When completed, the route will not only create a North-South traffic axis in the east, reducing pressure on National Highway 1, but also opening up room for economic, social, tourism and urban development along the coast of Quang Ngai.
Mr. Pham Xuan Vinh - Director of the Provincial Land Fund Development Center said that the Center will focus on best implementing site clearance work. Accordingly, in September 2025, the project site will be basically reclaimed and handed over to the investor for construction immediately after the start of construction. The center hopes that people affected by the project will agree to support the land acquisition work for the project's construction.
This is a component project of the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh Coastal Road project with a total length of about 100km, a total capital of about VND 5,600 billion, divided into 2 phases. Phase I, over 30km long, has been completed and put into use with a budget of nearly VND1,500 billion. Phase II is nearly 70km long, from the south of Co Luy bridge to Sa Huynh, deployed in the period of 2018 - 2025.
Developing inter-regional transport infrastructure projects
In addition to starting the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh Coastal Road project, phase IIb, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province has also just put into use Phuoc Loc bridge, the 7th bridge across Tra Khuc river, to celebrate the 1st Quang Ngai Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
The bridge is over 2.5km long, of which the approach roads at both ends of the bridge are over 1.8km long and nearly 26m wide. The bridge is 708.5m long, 23m wide with a design of 15 girders, with advanced construction technology. This is the first bridge in Quang Ngai province with a modern steel arch structure, painted in red to create a landscape highlight, opening up opportunities for tourism and service development.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, developing transport infrastructure is an important foundation, playing a key role in connecting regions, promoting trade, improving the quality of life and creating momentum for sustainable economic and social growth. Recognizing that, in recent times, the province has mobilized many resources to invest in key projects, including Phuoc Loc bridge.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang also said that in the coming time, Quang Ngai will continue to prioritize transport infrastructure projects with inter-regional, synchronous and modern connectivity. The focus is on completing the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal route, starting the construction of the new Tra Khuc 1 bridge, promoting the Quang Ngai - Kon Tum expressway and coordinating the implementation of the North - South High-Speed Railway project. These will be strategic traffic axes, expanding development space, creating new momentum for the province.
