On the afternoon of December 3, in Ca Mau, the Party Committee - Squadron 42 held a conference to review the Coast Guard's work in 2024 and deploy directions and tasks for 2025.
In 2024, Squadron 42 thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented the resolutions, directives, orders, and regulations of the superiors on combat readiness. Monitored and grasped the situation of the sea area and the area under the management of the unit; strictly maintained the on-duty system at all levels according to regulations.
Units in the entire Navy completed 100% of the training content, programs, and plans. The quality of combat training was improved, participating in competitions and sports events at all levels with many winning high prizes contributed to improving the capacity and level of organization and command of the staff, affirming the ability to master technical equipment, and enhancing the combat readiness of the unit.
The unit has organized 94 ships and boats to carry out missions, safely traveling more than 32,300 nautical miles. Participated in inspecting and fining 95 fishing boats, with a fine of more than 1.6 billion VND. The independent squadron seized a ship transporting 53,000 liters of DO oil; arrested and prosecuted 1 subject for illegal possession of drugs; coordinated with PC04 of Ca Mau Police to catch 3 subjects red-handed in the act of buying, selling, and organizing illegal use of drugs; arrested 1 wanted subject hiding at sea and handed him over to Binh Dinh Provincial Police.
Co-organizing 2 programs "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" and 3 programs "I love my homeland's sea and islands" in Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces, which were highly appreciated by local authorities and people.
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Phan Duy Cuong, Deputy Commander of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, praised and acknowledged the efforts and results that Squadron 42 has achieved in 2024. In the coming time, the Deputy Commander requested: Continue to educate officers and soldiers to deeply understand the situation and tasks, proactively overcome difficulties, and successfully complete all assigned tasks. On this occasion, Squadron 42 conducted a summary of the 2024 Victory Emulation Movement, announced the decision and awarded 10 collectives and 99 individuals with outstanding achievements. At the same time, launched the 2025 Victory Emulation Movement with the theme: "Democracy, solidarity, discipline, creativity, victory".
