Ukraine has new weapons, promising to break through the battlefield

Germany's AI-powered drones are expected to arrive in Ukraine in December, promising to bring many changes on the battlefield.

The War Zone reported that German defense company Helsing has just announced the start of production of the HX-2 suicide unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and plans to send thousands of them to Ukraine. The launch of HX-2 not only marks a step forward in UAV technology but also opens a new chapter in the use of automatic weapons in modern warfare.

The HX-2 is designed with light weight (about 12 kg), a maximum speed of 220 km/h and an operating range of up to 100 km. The aerodynamic shape with X-shaped wings and tail helps this UAV achieve high performance in combat. Notably, HX-2 is capable of integrating multi-purpose warheads, including those specialized for destroying armored vehicles and fortified works.

The highlight of HX-2 is its ability to use artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically identify and attack targets even when the control signal is lost. This allows the UAV to overcome advanced electronic warfare systems.

Helsing also affirmed that the HX-2 can operate in a herd formation, in which a single controller can control multiple UAVs at the same time. This ability significantly expands the scale and effectiveness of combat.

According to the plan, the first batch of HX-2 is expected to be delivered to Ukraine in December this year, with a total of up to 4,000 units. This UAV is expected to help Ukraine carry out long-range attacks more effectively, especially in destroying enemy defense systems and important targets.

The HX-2 is capable of penetrating deep into the opponent's control area, breaking the defense and creating a strategic advantage. This UAV can still cause the enemy to consume significant resources to maintain air defense capabilities against continuous attacks.

Helsing emphasized that all important decisions related to the HX-2 operation are under human supervision, to ensure transparency and accountability. The company also affirmed that defense and attack systems need to be developed on the basis of respect for democratic values and ethics.

The deployment of HX-2 in Ukraine is not only a technological advance, but also demonstrates Germany's commitment to support Kiev in the context of the escalating conflict. With its flexibility, low cost and high efficiency, HX-2 is expected to not only change the situation of the Ukrainian battlefield, but also shape the future of the global military.
