Previously, on September 10, Hai Phong Waterway Traffic Assurance Joint Stock Company issued Document No. 111/GTDT, regarding the temporary suspension of collecting fees for ferry services through Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry terminal to help overcome storm No. 3 (storm YAGI). Accordingly, the temporary suspension of collecting fees for ferry services through Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry terminal is from 12:00 on September 9 to the end of September 11.
However, by the end of September 11, the construction units installing ticket booths could not carry out the work due to lack of electricity, prolonged rain, and flooded factories; the information system (internet connection), power grid in Cat Hai area (Dong Bai, Cai Vieng wharf) was not available, the electricity supplier, information internet network was focusing on fixing it as soon as possible within the expected time of 5-7 days. Thus, the Company's implementation of ticket sales via Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry was still not possible.
Not to mention, since the storm has passed, the Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry has been in operation, passengers and vehicles passing through the palace are mainly people from Cat Hai island district, the forces have come to support the people of Cat Ba island to overcome the storm, there are no passengers traveling.
To accompany the city in supporting the people of Cat Hai island district to overcome storm No. 3, the Company reported to the authorities to continue to temporarily suspend the collection of ferry service fees via Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry until the end of September 20.
