The two bus drivers of routes 62-10 and 62-8 were suspended from work after squeezing each other, causing an accident on Kinh Duong Vuong Street, near the An Lac roundabout (now in An Lac Ward, the old Binh Tan District).
According to the image recorded from the camera, the bus with registration number 62-10 from the rear overtook and squeezed the 62-8 car, causing the vehicle to lose control, climb onto the sidewalk and have broken glass. Both vehicles only stopped after colliding and squeezing each other.
Immediately after the incident, a representative of the Public Transport Management Center (HCMC Department of Construction) said that the management unit of these two buses, Chau Thanh Transport Cooperative and Mien Tay Inter-provincial Passenger Cooperative, had temporarily suspended the work of the two drivers involved.
The Public Transport Management Center is continuing to extract GPS and camera data and coordinate with relevant parties to verify, clarify the incident and take strict action. At the same time, this unit has also requested businesses operating the two bus routes to strengthen inspection and rectify the service attitude of drivers and attendants, to ensure safety and quality of public passenger transport services.
