On January 7, information from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dong Nai province said that it had announced the air quality of the 6th period of 2024 (from October 29, 2024 - November 27, 2024) in the province.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dong Nai province conducts monitoring at 26 industrial parks and 14 industrial clusters in Dong Nai province.
The results showed that the concentration of TSP dust in the industrial park ranged from <30 - 523.0 μg/m3, exceeding the allowable standard by 1.37 - 1.74 times compared to the allowable standard with a pollution detection frequency of 0.93%.
1/26 industrial parks (Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park) were found to have dust content exceeding the permitted standards. Of which, the highest TSP dust content in Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park had 2/8 samples not meeting the permitted standards, exceeding from 1.37 to 1.74 times.
The reason is that Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park has many dust-generating companies such as brick production, animal feed production, shipping ports... leading to a large amount of dust spreading in the direction of the wind throughout the industrial park.
For industrial clusters, it was discovered that the TSP dust content at Tan An construction materials industrial cluster and Thien Tan - Thanh Phu industrial cluster exceeded the permitted standard by 1.15 times, the TSP dust concentration in the industrial cluster area ranged from <30 - 1158.0 μg/m3, the frequency of pollution detection was 8.93%.
In particular, the highest TSP dust content was detected at Tan An construction materials industrial cluster, this is an area where vehicles carrying raw materials, soil and rocks pass by a lot, leading to the emission of dust into the air. This is an area where dust pollution is often detected.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment requested the Dong Nai Province Industrial Parks Management Board to request investors in industrial park infrastructure to maintain measures to control the number of vehicles entering and leaving industrial parks, clean roads in industrial parks and add green areas around industrial parks to minimize dust affecting the surrounding air environment...
Regarding the air quality around Long Thanh International Airport, 10/11 locations have TSP dust content values that meet the standards, only 1 location (AI-SB-14, Binh Son commune) was found to have dust content exceeding the allowable standard by 1.27 times at some points during the monitoring period, the frequency of pollution detection was 2.27%. The reason was that at the time of sample collection, there were many trucks transporting raw materials, and the weather had strong winds, increasing the dispersion of dust into the surrounding environment.
Regarding air quality in urban residential areas, 2/21 locations were found to exceed TSP dust standards in Long Binh Tan ward (Bien Hoa city) and Thien Tan commune (Vinh Cuu district).
