On September 14, reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper recorded at Nhat Le beach, Dong Hoi ward, Quang Tri province, many sections of the coast were littered with trees, branches and various types of waste after days of heavy rain.
Along the sandbar, a large amount of branches and wooden bodies are laid in layers stretching. Interspersed with wooden firewood are plastic bottles, styrofoam boxes, nylon bags and many types of domestic waste. In some locations, wooden trees and waste are concentrated in piles right next to the water's edge.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dang Ngoc Hung - Director of Dong Hoi Ward General Service Center said that due to the impact of prolonged heavy rains and water from upstream pouring in, dozens of tons of garbage and rotten wood have drifted and piled up densely on Nhat Le beach.
Faced with the above situation, the Dong Hoi Ward General Service Center held a meeting, deployed a handling plan and prepared a submission requesting financial support to mobilize cranes, mechanical vehicles and workers to collect and transport garbage and wood.
According to Mr. Hung, the weather is still complicated, and garbage continues to drift ashore in batches. Therefore, the unit must choose a suitable time to organize centralized collection, both ensuring hygiene and environmental landscape, and limiting the need to mobilize vehicles and manpower many times, incurring additional costs.
Recorded at noon on September 14, Nhat Le beach still had big waves. On the shore, trees and garbage stretched in many locations, including large-sized tree trunks, requiring mechanized vehicles to collect and move them.
