Information from the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB), after a period of simultaneously deploying many items in cramped ground conditions, the Nhon - Hanoi Station Urban Railway Project has basically completed the reduction of barrier area at key construction locations, contributing to reducing traffic pressure in the inner city area.
Accordingly, implementing the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee on handling traffic "blockages", MRB has coordinated with the Hanoi Department of Construction to inspect the site, requesting the Hyundai - Ghella contractor consortium to implement plans to narrow the barriers flexibly, in accordance with actual conditions but without affecting the safety of the project or project progress.
In the area of Kim Ma S9 station, the section from Thu Le lake to Nguyen Chi Thanh overpass, the barrier along Kim Ma street has been narrowed from 0.5 to 1m on a length of about 400m.
Some locations opposite number 304 Kim Ma have also been shortened to increase traffic space. In particular, at the Lieu Giai - Kim Ma intersection, the project has adjusted the fence inside the construction site, opening an additional temporary right turn from Lieu Giai to Kim Ma.
In the escape well area of Kim Ma - Nui Truc intersection, barriers have been reduced, and the temporary road connecting Kim Ma below and Kim Ma above has been doubled, helping vehicles quickly escape the intersection, limiting prolonged congestion.
At S10 Cat Linh station, where the underground architecture and auxiliary items are under construction, the road surface has been expanded, combined with completing the temporary walkway along the fence, ensuring safety for people in the area.
Meanwhile, at S11 Van Mieu station on Quoc Tu Giam street, the reduction of barriers has helped the road surface to be significantly widened, while improving visibility in the intersection area, contributing to ensuring smooth traffic flow.
Regarding the S12 Tran Hung Dao station area and the garage area, after completing phase I, the project will continue to adjust the barriers in phase II to expand the road surface, serving a more reasonable traffic organization on this important road.
Representatives of MRB said that reducing barriers in particularly crowded urban conditions is a difficult problem, requiring careful calculation of technical, safety and costs.
In the coming time, MRB will continue to closely coordinate with departments, branches and local authorities to minimize the impact on people's lives, while ensuring the progress and quality of the key urban railway project of the Capital.

According to MRB, currently, package CP3 - Tunnel and underground stations are being constructed on the entire route with two TBM tunnel drilling machines operating continuously 24/24h, along with four underground stations and underground slopes. Every day, more than 500 engineers and workers work at the construction site.
Due to the specific nature of mainly underground construction, activities on the road surface only take place at some locations serving auxiliary structures, but it is still necessary to both ensure progress and maintain urban traffic.
To date, the overall progress of package CP3 has reached nearly 75%, while still ensuring requirements for quality, labor safety and environmental sanitation.
