On the evening of September 30, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC08) said that the An Suong Traffic Police Team is increasing patrols, controlling, focusing on handling the behavior of motorbikes on the sidewalk and many other violations, in order to restore traffic order and safety and build the image of a civilized urban area.
According to the Traffic Police Department, there are still a part of the population that do not strictly comply with road traffic safety and order, affecting traffic safety and urban order. Notable is the situation of motorbikes on the sidewalk, stopping at red lights to cross the prescribed paint line or stopping on the hammock line, causing obstruction and loss of aesthetics.
"Driving motorbikes and motorbikes onto the sidewalk to avoid traffic jams not only encroaches on space reserved for pedestrians but also poses a risk of collision, causing loss of aesthetics, damaging infrastructure and forcing pedestrians to walk on the road, posing many risks of accidents," emphasized the representative of the Traffic Police Department.
From September 15 to now, the An Suong Traffic Police Team has recorded more than 70 cases of motorbikes traveling on the sidewalk, going in the wrong direction; 30 cases of violating road markings and many other errors. In the past 2 days alone, professional technical equipment has recorded 30 more cases of motorbike driving on the sidewalk.
The Traffic Police Department said that in the coming time, it will continue to increase patrols, strictly handle violations, and at the same time encourage people to provide images and information of violations via phone number, email or Zalo of the Traffic Police Department for timely handling.
