On September 23, information from the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command said that by the morning of the same day, 100% of vehicles operating at sea had grasped information about storm Ragasa, regularly keeping in touch with authorities, local authorities and families.
According to statistics, the whole province currently has more than 6,500 fishing vessels with more than 20,500 workers. By the morning of September 23, 6,021 vehicles had anchored at the safe wharf. There are still more than 510 vehicles with about 3,400 workers operating at sea, but the owners and captains have grasped information about the storm and maintained regular communication to promptly respond.
Currently, the Thanh Hoa Border Guard is maintaining 4 storm information stations, regularly issuing notices, calls and instructions to ships to know the location and direction of the storm to proactively avoid and not enter the danger zone. Units also closely monitor weather developments, prevent floods and landslides; organize counting and maintain communication with vehicles operating at sea; at the same time, arrange forces and vehicles to be mobilized to carry out natural disaster prevention and search and rescue tasks when ordered.
Previously, to proactively respond to storm Ragasa, the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued an urgent telegram, requesting departments, branches and localities to immediately deploy the highest level of prevention measures to ensure the safety of people's lives and property. The meetings do not really need to be postponed to mobilize the entire political system to participate, focusing on directing and urging the response to super typhoon Ragasa.
