Tuyen Quang - Tan Trao revolutionary war zone today has gained a new face, spacious infrastructure, and people's lives are improving day by day.

On the 81-year journey of national development, the land of Tan Trao war zone is also constantly changing. Tan Trao today is wide open roads, solid roofs and the joy and prosperity of the people of the revolutionary land.

From small-scale agricultural production thinking, Tan Trao people have been and are applying science and technology every day, innovating farming methods, improving productivity and value for products.

Mr. Bang Minh Hanh's family, Khuon He village, Tan Trao commune, who used to mainly grow acacia and cassava with low economic efficiency, now has green tea hills, earning hundreds of millions of dong each year.

In 2022, when the State invested in building a water tank and technical support from the agricultural sector, Mr. Hanh decided to spend 400 million VND to install a water pipeline system and drip irrigation for all 5 hectares of tea.

I have converted the entire area of agricultural land to DP1, DP2, Ngoc Thuy hybrid tea varieties. Applying techniques, giving high yields, so each year I harvest from 40 to 50 tons of fresh tea buds, revenue of more than 200 million VND, family life is now much better," Mr. Hanh shared.

To develop a sustainable economy, Tan Trao commune mobilizes people to promote trade, services, small industry and handicrafts, and at the same time expand the area of tea, fruit trees, develop livestock breeding, beekeeping for honey and protect forests.

In addition to intensive farming of more than 764 hectares of rice fields, the whole commune currently has more than 440 hectares of tea, with an output of nearly 2,300 tons of fresh tea buds each year. To date, Tan Trao commune has 5 products recognized as OCOP.

Mr. Hoang Van Canh - Vice Chairman of Tan Trao Commune People's Committee said that the commune sets a target by 2030 to increase the average income per capita to 97 million VND/year, total food output to over 7,000 tons, and annually reduce the number of poor households by 3%.

The locality continues to plan agricultural production in the direction of commodities, promote scientific application, build brands and encourage organic, environmentally friendly production, bringing sustainable value," Mr. Canh informed.

Along with agriculture, tourism is considered a strength of Tan Trao war zone with many revolutionary historical relics, a regular destination on the journey to the source for tourists across the country.

The family of Mr. Hoang Van Nhien, Tan Lap village (Tan Trao commune) thanks to the business of catering services, serving tourists for many years, has a prosperous life. More and more tourists have created jobs and stable income for the whole family.

Today, the traffic roads are spacious, and more visitors come to visit the Tan Trao relic site, which has helped the family have stable jobs. With the attention of the State, people in the commune today have a prosperous life and are assured of economic development," Mr. Nhien said.

In the period 2021 - 2025, Tan Trao welcomed over 2 million visitors, and in 2025 alone, it welcomed 555,000 visitors. This also poses a new requirement for the people, the Tan Trao government to promote historical values and improve people's lives.

Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee is developing the Project "Tan Trao Tourism Development in the period 2026 - 2030", identifying historical and cultural values as the foundation, tourism to the source and traditional education as the main products.

The goal is that by 2030, Tan Trao will welcome 750,000 visitors, with total revenue from tourism reaching 600 billion VND. At the same time, complete the criteria to submit to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for consideration and recognition as Tan Trao National Tourist Area in 2029.
