Over the past time, prolonged heavy rain has caused landslides and rocks to appear on many roads in the highlands of Tuyen Quang.
In particular, on the key route National Highway 4C connecting to the highland communes of Tuyen Quang (former Ha Giang), there are many serious landslides. Muddy, scattered soil and rocks pose a risk of traffic unsafety.
Recorded by PV on July 29, after many days of prolonged heavy rain, along National Highway 4C there are dozens of landslide points.
At some locations, large stone blocks appeared on the positive slope overflowing onto the road surface, functional forces had to stretch ropes and place stakes to warn and divert traffic.
On the negative taluy side, the roadbed is subsided and deeply eroded, forming hollow spaces close to the road edge.
Vehicles when traveling through this area are forced to reduce speed, move slowly and yield to each other through narrow road sections.
Landslides make the road surface slippery, posing a potential risk of unsafety, especially in prolonged rain conditions.
Ms. Le Thi Thanh Lien (Hanoi tourist) said: "After heavy rains, landslides appear a lot. Some locations have soil and rocks blocking half of the road, which is very dangerous.
This is a key road leading to the highlands of Ha Giang (old), so there are many means of transportation. The delegations mainly travel by motorbike, so it is quite dangerous. We hope to handle it thoroughly soon and have a safety reinforcement plan so that everyone can travel with peace of mind, especially during the rainy season.
Sharing the same worry, Mr. Pham Hai Nam (Quan Ba commune) said that many landslide locations are very large, damaging all the railing banks.
Entering the rainy season, slippery roads are extremely difficult to travel. Some landslide areas are cliffs on one side and deep abysses on the other, so it is very dangerous, especially at night.
This route has many tourist car groups, so it is very unsafe for vehicles and tourists," Mr. Nam said.
