Stormy sea trip
After 10 days of waiting for information about relatives in distress on fishing vessel QNa 90859 TS, on the morning of September 3, at Cam Ranh International Port (Bac Cam Ranh ward, Khanh Hoa province), relatives of families burst into emotion when 32 crew members on board safely docked at the port.
Previously, fishing vessel QNa 90859 TS captained by Mr. Huynh Van Tri, 47 years old, residing in Nui Thanh commune, Da Nang city, along with 49 crew members engaged in squid fishing in the area about 35 nautical miles west of An Bang island (Truong Sa special zone, Khanh Hoa province).
On August 25, the ship was fishing when it had an incident, the captain signaled for rescue, and the ship gradually sank. All the crew members on board only had time to jump into the sea.
Upon receiving information, functional forces and fishermen operating in the area urgently deployed search and rescue.
By 1:25 pm on August 28, search and rescue forces at the scene discovered and rescued 32 fishermen in very weak health condition.
At about 2:30 PM on the same day, Ship 472 of Coast Guard Region 3 Command received 32 fishermen from 2 fishing boats of Gia Lai province fishermen and took them to Truong Sa Island.

On the morning of August 29, ship 472 docked at Truong Sa port, handing over the fishermen to officers and soldiers on the island to receive and take care of.
During their time on Truong Sa Island, fishermen were screened for health, provided with clothing, necessities and arranged accommodation. Officers and soldiers regularly visited, encouraged, and monitored the health and spirit of the fishermen.
On the morning of September 1st, Truong Sa Island handed over 32 fishermen to Truong Sa 18 ship of Brigade 955, Naval Region 4, to bring back to the mainland.
Timely encouragement and sharing with crew members
As soon as the fishermen returned to port, Naval Region 4 Command organized a meeting, encouraged, presented gifts and handed over 32 fishermen of fishing vessel QNa 90859 TS to the locality.
Military medical forces of Naval Region 4 conducted health checks immediately after the fishermen returned to shore. Through initial checks, the health and spirit of 32 fishermen were basically stable.

Directly present to encourage the fishermen, Mr. Ho Xuan Truong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee shared the difficulties and losses that the fishermen experienced after the incident at sea.
At the same time, he hoped that the fishermen would soon recover their health, return to reunite with their families and stabilize their lives.
On behalf of the leaders of Khanh Hoa province, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Xuan Truong presented support of 2 million VND to each fisherman to 32 fishermen.

Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Ha also shared with families with missing relatives. At the same time, he requested Naval Region 4 to continue to coordinate with relevant forces to support the search for the fishermen who have not been found.
Representatives of the government of Nui Thanh commune (Da Nang City) thanked Naval Region 4, the Vietnam Coast Guard force and fishing boats of Gia Lai province fishermen for participating in rescue and supporting the safe return of fishermen in distress.
