According to initial information, at about 7:30 am on the same day, people living behind Binh Trung market (old District 2 area) suddenly discovered black smoke billowing from a house in an alley.

In just a few minutes, the fire quickly caught fire to flammable items and flared up fiercely. People present at the scene immediately shouted for help, mobilized handheld fire extinguishers and pulled out domestic water to put out the fire. However, due to the fire developing too quickly and emitting large amounts of heat, initial efforts to put out the fire on the spot were unsuccessful.
Recorded at the scene, the black smoke column from the fire rose tens of meters high, visible from afar. Due to the incident occurring in the early Sunday morning, the market area and neighboring alleys were quite crowded, causing local chaos.

Fortunately, as soon as the fire broke out, all people in the distressed house and adjacent households promptly detected it and quickly evacuated to a safe area.
Upon receiving the news, functional forces mobilized many fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene. Functional forces had to deploy water cannons from many directions to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas of Binh Trung market.
Currently, functional agencies are cordoning off the scene to continue extinguishing the fire.
