On July 15, speaking with Lao Dong reporter, a representative of Sam Son ward People's Committee, Thanh Hoa province said that the reason for the locality's sea water splitting into two different colors is because the Sam Son sea area is located near the end of the Ma River. After each heavy rain, river water from upstream carries a large amount of alluvium into the sea. When river water meets sea water, it will create a clear color boundary on the sea surface.

Previously, a clip appeared on social media recording the scene of the Sam Son sea water having two separate colors, attracting the attention of many people.
According to the clip author, the incident occurred at around 4:00 p.m. on July 13, when he used a flycam to record at sea, he suddenly discovered this phenomenon. After that, he filmed the clip and posted it on social media.
Many local people confirmed that the above phenomenon is not unusual. Over the years, this area has had many times of two-color seawater, especially after each heavy rain.
