PV recorded on the morning of June 16, the subsidence hole is about 5 meters in size, 5 meters deep. The ground below is deeply hollowed out, forming a frog's mouth, approaching the base of the foundation of Mr. Duong Van Khai and Mrs. Lai Thi Hoan's household.
Currently, the subsided area has been planted with warning signs and ropes by functional agencies to ensure safety.
Mr. Duong Van Khai (group 3, Linh Son ward) said that the unusual subsidence hole appeared at about 12 noon on June 15.
When I was preparing for lunch break, I heard a loud noise. Going to check, I discovered that the ground had subsided, forming a deep hole, and water was rising to the mouth of the hole. Initially, I thought it was a water pipe burst, but the hole is getting wider and deeper," Mr. Khai said.
Also according to Mr. Khai, the subsidence hole directly affected 2 households. Last night (June 15), the families moved their belongings to ensure safety. Before the subsidence hole appeared, there were no unusual signs in this area.
Sharing the same worry, Ms. Lai Thi Hoan (group 3, Linh Son ward) said that in the immediate future, her family must relocate to ensure safety.
Suddenly a large subsidence hole appeared like this, I am also very worried. The mouth of the hole is increasingly widening, and has now moved closer to the foundation of the house. I hope functional agencies will soon inspect and have a handling plan to ensure safety," Ms. Hoan informed.
Before the appearance of subsidence holes in area group 3, the Construction, Agriculture and Environment Department of Linh Son ward and functional forces were present at the scene to inspect and assess the situation.
Local authorities have also placed warning signs, cordoned off dangerous areas; and reported to the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for further remedial measures.
