On November 24, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province announced that it had issued a document directing the encouragement and support of small traders and business households at markets, supermarkets, and shopping centers to make cashless payments.
Over the past years, Khanh Hoa province has organized an Action Program to implement the Project on developing non-cash payments, while encouraging small traders and business households in markets, supermarkets and commercial centers to actively implement non-cash payments and scan QR codes in business activities.
This project has quickly created positive results in practice as many people, tourists and businesses have gradually become familiar with cashless shopping and payments.
In August 2024, Nha Trang City also launched a pilot cashless payment market.
During the pilot period of the Cashless Payment Market, the State Bank of Vietnam, Khanh Hoa Branch, will compile the cashless payment turnover of small traders and business households in the markets to summarize and award prizes to encourage electronic payments at the markets.
From the results of the pilot implementation, the State Bank of Vietnam, Khanh Hoa Branch, will report and build a model to advise the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to direct replication throughout the province.
In the current situation, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province has requested the State Bank of Vietnam, Khanh Hoa Branch, to mobilize commercial banks to carry out activities to support customers in opening accounts, such as support policies when opening accounts, accumulating points for each successful transaction, and implementing promotional programs for small traders and business households in markets, supermarkets, and shopping centers to actively participate in making non-cash payments.
