Fire burns down books amid storms in Thanh Hoa

Xuân Hùng |

On the morning of September 29, while storm No. 10 caused heavy rain and gusts of wind in many localities, a serious fire broke out at Cam Thuy bookstore, Thanh Hoa.

According to initial information, the cause was believed to be an electrical short circuit. Because the inside contained many books, notebooks, papers, and flammable stationery, combined with strong winds during storms, the fire quickly broke out, engulfing the entire bookstore and spreading to some adjacent households.

Immediately after receiving the report, the authorities mobilized 3 fire trucks and many firefighters and soldiers to the scene, making efforts to put out the fire in harsh weather conditions. After many hours, the fire was controlled and not allowed to spread further.

Previously, from the night of September 28 to the morning of September 29, Thanh Hoa continuously had heavy to very heavy rain due to the impact of storm No. 10, many places were flooded, roofs were blown off, and houses collapsed. The fire at a bookstore amidst the storm made the situation even more difficult.
