Regarding the case of a foreign teacher slapping a 4th grade student while tutoring, on May 30, leaders of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee (Gia Lai) said that the locality has requested to stop tutoring activities at 72 Ly Tu Trong, after determining that this facility has not registered according to regulations.
I have directed the Culture and Social Department of the ward to advise on the form of handling for tutoring activities not registered at this facility. Regarding the act of slapping students, the Ward Police are collecting evidence, consolidating records, determining the extent of the child's injuries to handle according to regulations," the leader of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee informed.

According to initial verification, at about 9:15 pm on May 23, Ms. Tran Doan Na (born 1996, residing in Quy Nhon ward) reported to the ward police about her son T.G.V (born 2016, a 4th grade student at Tran Hung Dao Elementary School) being slapped in the face by an English tutor.
Through working, functional agencies identified the person who slapped V. as Mr. Sharub T. (born 1988, Indian), an English teacher at the above facility.
Previously, on the afternoon of May 23, V. came to take extra English classes at address 72 Ly Tu Trong. At about 3:40 pm on the same day, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Tinh T. (born 1978, residing at the same address, Mr. Sharub T.'s wife) texted Ms. Na to inform her that V. was slapped by the teacher for not listening.

At about 4:15 pm on the same day, when picking up her child, Ms. Na discovered that baby V.'s face was swollen and red, with signs of tinnitus and headache, so she took him to Gia Lai Provincial Central General Hospital for examination.
Talking to Lao Dong newspaper on the morning of May 30, Ms. Tran Doan Na said that the examination results showed that baby V. suffered an ear injury and eardrum perforation due to being beaten.
Currently, the family is taking baby V. to the Ho Chi Minh City Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital to continue treatment according to the instructions of Gia Lai Provincial Central General Hospital.
My child has a severe eardrum perforation, here it cannot be cured, so he has to be transferred to Ho Chi Minh City. His condition is not optimistic, so our family is very worried," Ms. Na said.
