On May 25, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, leaders of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee (Gia Lai) said that functional units are consolidating dossiers to handle the case of a foreign teacher slapping a 4th grade student while tutoring.
According to initial verification, at about 9:15 pm on May 23, Ms. Tran Doan Na (born 1996, residing in Quy Nhon ward) reported to the ward police about her son T.G.V (born 2016, a 4th grade student at Tran Hung Dao Elementary School) being slapped in the face by an English tutor.
Previously, on the afternoon of May 23, V. came to learn more English at address 72 Ly Tu Trong, Quy Nhon ward.

At about 3:40 pm, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Tinh T. (born 1978, residing at the same address, wife of a foreign teacher) texted Ms. Na to inform her that baby V. was slapped in the face by the teacher for not listening.
At about 4:15 pm on the same day, when picking up her child, Ms. Na discovered that baby V.'s face was swollen and red, with signs of tinnitus and headache, so she took him to Gia Lai Provincial Central General Hospital for examination.
According to Ms. Na, after examination, the doctor diagnosed baby V. with soft tissue injury in the cheek and ear area due to strong impact.

Through verification, the person involved in the case is Mr. Sharub T. (born 1988), a foreign teacher teaching English at the above address.
According to the leader of Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee, through working with functional agencies, Ms. T. - wife of the foreign teacher - confirmed that her husband had slapped baby V. in the face.
Functional agencies determined that the foreign teacher tutored at house number 72 Ly Tu Trong but did not register according to regulations. Currently, functional units are consolidating dossiers for handling according to regulations," the ward leader said.
