However, currently, Kim Hoa, Son Tien and An Hoa Thinh communes are still partially flooded. Therefore, it is expected that from September 25, about 1,500 students in these communes will not return to school.
Also according to Mr. Giang, due to the flood, on September 24, the whole district of Huong Son had 8 schools with 3,111 students absent from school. During this flood, the whole district had 2 schools flooded, many other schools were not flooded but the road to school was flooded so the school had to let students stay home.
Mr. Trinh Hong Manh - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Duc Tho district - said that the water is receding, so it is expected that on September 25, many schools in the district will have students returning to school. However, in low-lying communes such as Tung Chau and Quang Vinh, preschool students may not be able to return to school tomorrow.
On September 24, in Duc Tho district, 5 schools with more than 1,200 students had to stay home from school due to flooding.
On September 24, Ha Tinh province had 14 schools with 4,678 students absent due to flooding.
The flood from September 22 to 24 caused some damage in some localities in Ha Tinh.
Specifically, in Can Loc district, 2 electric poles in Quang Loc commune were broken; in Son Loc commune, 1 household had its roof damaged by strong winds; 4 electric poles fell on a production farm in Thanh Loc; in My Loc commune, strong winds caused a 37m fence to collapse, damaged about 1.8km of road lighting system, and flooded 1.5ha of aquaculture.
Vu Quang district has some hectares of crops affected, including 10 hectares of sugarcane in Tho Dien commune, 40 shade trees on traffic routes in the communes of Duc Huong, Quang Tho, Duc Lien, Duc Bong, Huong Minh.
Nghi Xuan district flooded nearly 70 hectares of crops, about 40 hectares of aquaculture area; Xuan Hoi beach continued to erode by 3m deep and 80m long.
