According to initial information, the fire broke out on the morning of the same day, in the forest area of Sub-area 150. The fire is suspected to have originated from people burning and clearing vegetation after exploitation, with the risk of spreading to residential areas.
Since the beginning of the afternoon, the fire has been surrounded and basically controlled by functional forces. The residential area is still safe, people do not have to evacuate," said the leader of the Fire and Rescue Police Department.
Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province informed that by the afternoon of the same day, functional units still coordinated with the "4 on-the-spot" force of Phu My Dong commune to continue to deploy fire fighting work.
According to the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province, the forest area where the fire occurred earlier was discovered and extinguished. However, after the sea breeze blew, the fire broke out again, so the forces continued to coordinate firefighting.
Immediately after discovering the fire, Phu My Dong Commune People's Committee mobilized forces of officials, police, military and people in the area to focus on handling and controlling the fire.
The locality has also issued a notice advising people not to enter the forest fire area to ensure safety for people and property.
