On January 27, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the leadership of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province (Thanh Hoa Department of Culture) said that the unit had just issued a document reporting to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on the inspection and handling of press and public opinion information reflecting the Hon Vong Phu relic.
According to the report, on January 20, the Thanh Hoa Department of Culture coordinated with relevant departments, branches and Dong Quang Ward People's Committee to organize a field inspection at the relic site.
Through inspection, the Hon Vong Phu relic site has completed construction. Current status shows that Hon Vong Phu has a light gray-white color compared to natural rocks in the Nhoi mountain area. The entire relic site is covered with a layer of fine white stone powder.
From the foot of the mountain up to the foot of Hon Vong Phu, there are some spontaneous points to build altars, place incense bowls, and form places of worship. The area around the mountain peak, at the foot of Hon Vong Phu, still has construction materials that have not been collected and cleaned after construction. In particular, the Hon Vong Phu relic site does not have an entrance, currently to get to the relic site, you must go through residential land of people.
With the above inspection results, the Thanh Hoa Department of Culture affirmed that the press content reflecting the color of Hon Vong Phu after being restored is in accordance with the actual situation.

Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, Hon Vong Phu national relic was facing the risk of collapse after being struck by lightning many times. Faced with this situation, in mid-2024, Thanh Hoa City People's Committee (old) invested in a lightning protection system at Hon Vong Phu relic with a total cost of more than 800 million VND.
Next, in May 2025, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee approved the investment project to build a project to preserve and reinforce the Hon Vong Phu relic with a total investment of 17 billion VND from the provincial budget, the project implementation time to be completed before December 31, 2025.
After the project was approved, the construction unit urgently deployed relic reinforcement items. After many months of construction, the project is now almost completed. However, images of Hon Vong Phu relic after reinforcement and handling have caused much debate on social networks.
