Creating jobs for rural workers
For nearly ten years, Phat Tai Agricultural Cooperative in Thanh My commune, Chau Thanh district, Tra Vinh province has created stable jobs for dozens of rural workers, especially seasonal workers.
After many years of working and working at Phat Tai Agricultural Cooperative, Mr. Vo Minh Liet (Thanh My commune, Chau Thanh district) said that the development of the cooperative has brought more stable and regular work.
According to Mr. Liet, before he was a member of the cooperative, each crop was cut by about 400 - 500 hectares of land (1 hectare = 1,000m2). But now this number has increased to 2-3 times.
"From the profits we have gained, we have invested in high-quality mixed-use harvesters, with efficiency increasing by 1.5 times compared to previous machines," Mr. Vo Minh Liet added.

In addition, Mr. Tran Kim Thien (Thanh My commune, Chau Thanh) - a seasonal worker - said that he has had the opportunity to work more stably than before, helping to increase income and improve family life.
According to Mr. Thien, previously the work of scraping the ground only lasted about 30 days, then had to stop for about 2 months. Each working day, I earn about 500,000 VND. However, since joining the cooperative, there have been continuous jobs in many fields, and income has doubled.
"Thanks to a stable job, my family's income has increased, helping to improve our lives and bring peace of mind, without worrying about unemployment," Mr. Thien added.
Reducing unemployment of rural workers
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Quach Van Ut - Secretary of the Party Cell of O Tre Lon Hamlet, Thanh My Commune - said that since the establishment of the cooperative, the local labor force has had a stable work of about 70 members.
"attracting many workers to join the cooperative is a clear sign of sustainable development. Workers not only have stable jobs but also have high incomes, helping localities reduce unemployment, Mr. Ut added.

In addition, Mr. Tran Van Chung - Director of Phat Tai Agricultural Cooperative - said that the cooperative currently has over 100 members, responsible for growing rice and working with mechanical equipment to serve agricultural production.
Previously, seasonal workers only earned a very low salary, even a "cheap" of less than 200,000 VND/day. However, since joining the cooperative, their income has improved significantly, helping them improve their quality of life.
According to Mr. Chung, currently, employees participating in cooperatives can be paid 300,000 - 400,000 VND per day depending on their work.
"This model is a practical demonstration for cooperatives in promoting the local economy and bringing practical benefits to the community," Mr. Chung added.
