Tra Vinh Wax Coconut Museum is located at Hamlet 2, Thanh Phu Commune, Cau Ke District, Tra Vinh Province, and started construction in March 2023, with a total investment of more than 20 billion VND.
The project includes a ground floor and two floors, with a construction area of nearly 1,500m2. This is the first non-public museum in Vietnam with the theme of Tra Vinh wax coconut tree - a tree with special economic and cultural value.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien - Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee - informed that this is the first museum in Vietnam focusing on wax coconut trees - a tree with special economic and cultural value. At the same time, it is the first non-public museum in the province.
The Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee said that the establishment of Tra Vinh Wax Coconut Museum creates diversity in the activities of introducing and promoting the cultural heritage values of the province, with the exhibition theme focusing on Tra Vinh wax coconut tree.

Tra Vinh Wax Coconut Museum is expected to become an indispensable attractive destination for domestic and international tourists whenever they come to Tra Vinh homeland", the Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
Tra Vinh Wax Coconut Museum is a vibrant cultural space, a harmonious combination of tradition and modernity, introducing the cultural diversity typical of the Kinh - Khmer - Chinese community, through unique artifacts and stories about Tra Vinh wax coconut, a symbol of solidarity and cultural exchange of three ethnic groups living together peacefully in Tra Vinh for many years.
The museum is also a special place to pay tribute and remember the contributions of monk Thach So, who brought the precious wax coconut to Vietnam 100 years ago (in 1924), contributing to enriching the cultural values of his homeland.
Tra Vinh province currently has 27,359 hectares of coconut, ranking second in the country, with a yield of 16.6 tons/ha and an output of 392,399 tons. Of which, 5,276 hectares of organic coconut are consumed by 8 companies and cooperatives, accounting for 19.3% of the province's coconut area; 20 growing area codes have been granted (19 domestic growing area codes, 1 export growing area code) with an area of 1,561 hectares, accounting for 5.7% of the province's coconut area, contributing to improving the quality to meet market demand and increasing the value of coconut products in the province.
