According to forecast bulletins from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, from the afternoon of September 21 to September 24, a period of heavy rain will appear in the province. Common rainfall is from 120-250mm/period, locally over 300mm/period.
Specialized agencies warn of the risk of heavy rain with intensity over 100mm in 3 hours, accompanied by thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning and hail.
Faced with the above weather diễn biến, the Steering Committee for Civil Defense of Khanh Hoa province requested departments, agencies, branches, localities and units to proactively deploy plans to respond to heavy rain, flooding, flash floods, landslides and dangerous weather phenomena.
Units are required to continue to strictly implement the direction of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Civil Defense Command on disaster prevention and control; not be subjective or negligent, regularly monitor rain developments and update forecast and warning bulletins of the meteorological and hydrological agency.
People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones are requested to deploy shock forces to inspect and review areas at risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides; proactively relocate and evacuate people in riverside, stream, and low-lying areas to safe places, especially places where heavy rain has occurred.
Localities are also clearing the flow, preparing forces on the spot to promptly support people to overcome the consequences if an incident occurs.
The Provincial Military Command and Provincial Police are required to proactively arrange forces, vehicles, and equipment, maintain a 24/24 hour duty regime; be ready to coordinate with localities for rescue and relief, support the evacuation of people, ensure security and order, traffic diversion and handle arising situations.
The Department of Construction directs road management units and construction units to focus manpower, machinery, equipment and materials, accelerate the progress of reinforcement, repair, and overcoming damaged locations due to floods in 2025, especially at key locations on National Highway 27C and National Highway 27.
Units are required to urgently inspect and handle locations at risk of unsafety; arrange sufficient warning signs, barriers and warning lights in construction areas or areas at risk of landslides and rolling rocks. At the same time, prepare manpower, machinery, and materials to handle incidents, ensuring smooth and safe traffic.
