Regarding the information that Cua Nam Ward (Hanoi City) will pilot the ban on gasoline vehicles in the area and support people to switch to electric vehicles, on August 4, the People's Committee of the Ward issued Document No. 246/UBND-VP stating: On July 24, 2025, the leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee had a working session with Cua Nam Ward on a number of contents, including the implementation of low emission zones in Hanoi City.
At the meeting, the leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and advise the Hanoi People's Committee to submit to the Hanoi People's Council to issue a resolution amending and supplementing Resolution 47/2024/NQ-HDND dated December 12, 2024 of the Hanoi People's Council; at the same time, study and develop a project for low-emission zones in the Ring Road 1 area. There are no contents such as: Cua Nam Ward will ban gasoline vehicles in its area and support people to switch to electric vehicles; Cua Nam Ward is the first place to pilot the ban on gasoline vehicles before expanding... as some websites have reported.
According to Mr. Vu Tuan Trung - Chief of Office of Cua Nam Ward People's Committee, the conversion to clean vehicles will be implemented by Cua Nam Ward People's Committee according to Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated July 12, 2025 of the Prime Minister on a number of urgent and drastic tasks to prevent and resolve environmental pollution and under the direction of Hanoi City.
