After the reflection of Lao Dong Newspaper about the management and exploitation unit of Eo Gio Tourist Area (Quy Nhon Dong ward) ignoring the direction of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, still collecting a sightseeing ticket price of 40,000 VND/turn, on June 27, Mr. Pham Van Thanh - Deputy Director of Gia Lai Provincial Department of Finance - said that the operating unit has reduced the ticket price to 30,000 VND/turn.
According to the Deputy Director of Gia Lai Provincial Department of Finance, the price of 22,000 VND/turn has been applied since 2022. After investing in renovation, planting trees, environmental improvement and strengthening human resources, the adjustment to 30,000 VND/turn is considered appropriate.
Mr. Thanh said that in the near future, the Department of Finance will work with the management unit of Eo Gio Tourist Area, proposing to maintain the price level of 30,000 VND/trip until a roadmap for adjusting prices appropriately and commensurate with service quality is developed.
Mr. Tran Viet Quang - Chairman of Quy Nhon Dong Ward People's Committee - said that based on the opinions of travel businesses and the fact that some items inside the tourist area have been renovated, the adjustment from 22,000 VND to 30,000 VND/trip is appropriate.
As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported, just half a month after taking over Eo Gio Tourist Area, Star Hanoi Real Estate Joint Stock Company - the unit that won the auction for management and exploitation rights from June 1, 2026 - announced an increase in entrance ticket prices from 22,000 VND to 50,000 VND/turn from June 15.
After facing a wave of reactions from public opinion, people, tourists and local authorities, the company reduced the ticket price by 20%, down to 40,000 VND/trip.
However, this price level still faces many mixed opinions. Many people and tourists believe that the infrastructure, amenities and service quality at Eo Gio are not commensurate with the new price level.
In response to public reaction, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested the company to maintain the current entrance ticket price of 22,000 VND/trip and not increase the price from June 19.
It is known that Eo Gio Tourist Area was previously managed and exploited by FLC Group Joint Stock Company. In 2022, this destination was handed over to the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board for management.
After that, continue to hand over to the local authorities for management, operation, and organization of tourism activities; temporarily collect entrance fees at 22,000 VND/visitor.
By June 1, 2026, Star Hanoi Real Estate Joint Stock Company officially takes over the management and exploitation rights of the tourist area according to the auction results.
