On August 13, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh district (Quang Binh province) Tran Xuan Tinh said that he had just inspected the condition of heavy trucks circulating on the road from An Ninh commune to Truong Xuan commune.
Regular watering reduces dust
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper had an article reflecting " Trucks following each other plowed through residential roads in Quang Binh ", Mr. Tinh commented that it was a bypass road passing through residential areas, the route was put into use from 2 to 3. years ago.
When the enterprise's stone mining transport route cannot pass through Rao Da bridge (Truong Xuan commune), from here, convoys of construction materials circulate to the above bypass route. This route has been invested in gravel, intended for use, but after operation, it quickly deteriorated as it is now.
The trucks carrying this material come from 4 quarries in Truong Xuan commune. To ensure safe circulation, Quang Ninh district and Truong Xuan commune have worked with businesses to repair damages.
Mr. Tinh said that the business has agreed and invested in paving some sections, and also has watering solutions to reduce dust. Since investing in asphalt pavement, the dust situation has decreased, and watering is done regularly by the business.
However, the above road still has many places that are not carpeted, so there is still dust that affects people's lives and activities.
Mr. Tinh said: "The district and commune have asked businesses to consider investing in plastic mats for some remaining road sections passing through residential areas.
Businesses will discuss and agree on implementation to reduce dust and smoke affecting people. The district also asked the province to consider investing in paving a part of the section from Ho Chi Minh Road to the quarries, because the district is currently facing difficulties and does not have investment funds.
Handled 7 cases of truck violations
After Lao Dong Newspaper reported, the District People's Committee directed Quang Ninh District Police to immediately check the situation of heavy trucks on the above route. During 3 days (August 9, 10, 11), the district police organized patrols, controlled and handled 7 violations, mainly oversized and overloaded vehicles.
“We will continue to have instructions to maintain inspection and handling to ensure traffic safety. At the same time, the district assigned the Department of Infrastructure Economics to review the systems of signs, warnings, speed bumps, and points that obscure visibility for supplementation.
In particular, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment is assigned to advise on official dispatches directing the strengthening of measures to ensure environmental hygiene at stone mining sites" - Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh District People's Committee Tran Xuan Tinh added.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported , over the past 2 years, the road connecting the east branch of the Ho Chi Minh Highway starting from Kim Nai village, An Ninh commune to Truong Xuan commune (Quang Ninh district), has become a route for vehicles. Large load carrying construction materials.
The convoy of vehicles rumbled along the nearly 7km route, trailing a series of dust clouds more than 3 meters high, extending a trail dozens of meters long. The two rows of trees on the roadside are covered with a white layer of stone dust here.
Every day, there are hundreds of trucks running on this route, making people feel unsafe and potentially at risk of accidents.
