At around 5:00 p.m. on May 12, upon receiving a report from the people that 2 people had drowned in the Lien Chieu sea area, the Lien Chieu Port Border Guard Station, and the Da Nang Port Border Guard (City Border Guard) immediately deployed officers and soldiers to coordinate with the people to rescue.
Border Guard officers performed first aid and artificial respiration for the two victims, and called for emergency care to take the victims to Lien Chieu District General Hospital.
Through the situation, it is known that the two victims were two grandchildren. The man's name is N.D.M. (born in 1999), from Ninh Binh, was on a trip to Da Nang, the grandson is T. H. D. (born in 2018), residing in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district.
After school, the two of them went swimming together. While swimming in the sea, D. was swept away by the water, so Mr. M. swam out to save him. However, due to the big waves, Mr. M. was exhausted.
Currently, the health of the two uncles and nephews has temporarily stabilized.
According to the Border Guard Station of Lien Chieu Port, in recent times, there have been a number of drowning accidents in the Lien Chieu sea area, so people and tourists need to pay attention to strengthening measures to ensure the safety of tourists, especially children, to avoid similar unfortunate accidents.
