At about 8:15 am on June 16, while patrolling and performing duties at sea in stormy weather conditions, heavy rain, ship 201 of Naval Flotilla 7, Brigade 169 (Navy Region 1) discovered fishing vessel QN 90290-TS with engine failure, drifting at sea.
The fishing boat is captained by Mr. Cao Van Vinh, born in 1971, residing in Hong Gai ward, Quang Ninh province.
At the time of the incident, there were a captain and 3 crew members on board.
Due to engine problems, fishing boats cannot move in stormy conditions, posing a risk of unsafety if not supported in time.
Immediately after approaching, officers and soldiers of ship 201 visited and reassured the fishermen, and at the same time deployed rescue measures.
The Navy force then organized to tow the fishing boat out of the dangerous area, ensuring safety for the 4 fishermen on board.
After completing the initial rescue, ship 201 handed over the vehicles to ships operating near the area to continue supporting technical incident remediation.
