On August 21, according to PV's investigation, Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee has just requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Provincial Police, Provincial Border Guard Command and People's Committees of communes and wards to strengthen coordination to protect aquatic resources in the area.
Accordingly, the work of protecting aquatic resources is identified as a key and regular task.
Functional forces are required to continue to implement the plans of the Ministry of Public Security - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Provincial People's Committee.
Lai Chau will organize peak patrols, inspections, and inter-sectoral sweeps in key areas and hotspots in waterways.
Focus on detecting, preventing and strictly handling acts of using banned substances, banned chemicals, toxic substances, explosives, electric shock, electric current and methods, means, and fishing gear that are destructive and exterminatory to exploit aquatic resources.
Along with inspection and handling, the province requests to promote propaganda, dissemination, and legal education; mobilize organizations and individuals to sign commitments not to store, buy, sell, produce, transport and use prohibited fishing gear, explosives, toxic substances, and electric shocks for seafood exploitation.
In particular, functional forces and local authorities are required to proactively grasp the situation in cyberspace, promptly detect and handle illegal purchase and storage of equipment and fishing gear prohibited from use in seafood exploitation.
The Provincial People's Committee also requested to launch a movement for the whole people to participate in protecting aquatic resources, publicize the focal point for receiving reports and denunciations of violations and promptly transfer them to competent authorities for handling.
