On February 1 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), the People's Committee of Vung Tau City announced that many rumors that affected the image of local tourism posted on social networks were quickly verified and clarified by the authorities. Through initial verification, this information was found to be inaccurate.
For example, an account posted on social media about eating 4 scallops for 1.4 million VND and called on people to boycott a restaurant in Ward 2, Vung Tau City.
Or a female photo account posted information about being "molested" by a hotel manager while renting a room, but at an unknown time in 2024....
After the above information was posted on the afternoon and evening of January 31, on February 1, the People's Committee of Vung Tau City directed functional forces to quickly investigate.
Ward 2 People's Committee organized a working group with the restaurant owner, through which it was found that the establishment had posted the selling price of goods, presented relevant documents and purchase invoices. Reviewing the records showed that the price of Japanese scallops imported by this establishment was up to 920,000 VND/kg.
Through a survey at some other restaurants in the area, it shows that the price of Japanese scallops, 4 pieces/kg, listed on February 1 is more than 1.36 million VND.
Regarding the information about a case of "violation" by hotel management, the authorities have started working with this facility.
Thereby, it was determined that the previous manager had left the job, the information of the person reporting the incident had not been identified, and the content of the report had not been reported to the authorities. At the same time, through review, it was found that this account also reported similar content to many individuals in other localities...
According to the People's Committee of Vung Tau City, in response to the information reported, the locality quickly took action to verify and clarify the matter. Any person spreading false rumors, if discovered, will be strictly handled according to regulations.
