On January 31 (the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year), more than 100 workers were actively working on the construction site of the Thuy Van road renovation project (Bai Sau area, Vung Tau city), to ensure the project progress as committed.
Mr. Tri (a worker) said that he had taken leave to visit his family in Kien Giang before, to be ready to work through Tet. After celebrating Tet early in his hometown, he returned to the construction site on January 27 (December 28) to work.
"Working during Tet is also fun. Seeing many people swimming in the sea makes me feel the bustling atmosphere even though I am at the construction site. The contractor also prepares enough food, apricot flowers and Tet gifts for the workers; the salary is higher than usual... so everyone is excited," said Mr. Tri.
According to the Vung Tau City Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project is currently entering the final stage, with 13 construction areas and underground works. To ensure the project is completed on schedule, Vung Tau City has requested the contractor to carry out construction throughout Tet, striving to complete the project by April 21 this year.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam - Deputy Commander of the project - said that he had organized a campaign to mobilize workers to voluntarily register to work during Tet, and more than 100 workers had registered.
"During Tet, we arrange a team of workers to work regularly to complete items such as underground system construction, finishing embankment girders and auxiliary works... And after Tet, we will continue to speed up the project's construction progress," said Mr. Nam.
The Thuy Van Street renovation project with a total investment of more than 1,094 billion VND is not only an urban renovation project, but also a symbol of Vung Tau's development. The project aims to be completed within 180 days, before the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
