On the afternoon of August 20, the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone said that it had reported to the Provincial People's Committee, and at the same time notified relevant agencies and the business community about adjusting the customs clearance time at the two border gate areas.
The adjustment is carried out at the Chi Ma (Vietnam) - Ai Diem (China) bilateral border gate and the customs clearance path in area marker 1090-1091, belonging to the Tan Thanh (Vietnam) - Po Chai (China) route.
According to the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, in recent days, the number of vehicles carrying import and export goods through these two areas has tended to increase.
To meet the needs of businesses and improve the exploitation capacity of border gates, the unit has exchanged and agreed on a plan with the authorities of Bang Tuong town and Ninh Minh district, Guangxi, China.
From August 20 to the end of August 26, functional forces at Chi Ma border gate worked from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM and from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM Hanoi time. The total time for procedures increased by 1.5 hours compared to before the adjustment.
At the customs clearance area at landmarks 1090-1091, from September 1, 2026 until a new notice is issued, functional forces will work from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM all days of the week, including holidays and Tet.
Notably, customs clearance procedures in the Tan Thanh - Po Chai area will be carried out through noon. Thanks to that, the processing time of goods each day is increased by 1.5 hours compared to before.
The extension of working hours is expected to improve customs clearance efficiency, increase the number of vehicles released in a day and limit the situation of goods having to wait at border gates.
The Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone proposed that businesses proactively update new work schedules, regulate goods transport vehicles appropriately, avoid focusing on certain hours and reduce incurred costs.
In recent days, the total number of vehicles carrying import and export goods cleared through the border gates of Lang Son province regularly exceeds 2,000 vehicles per day.
The Chi Ma and Tan Thanh border gate areas alone recorded more than 900 vehicles, an increase of about 15% compared to the beginning of August 2026.
