On August 15, information from the Border Guard of Lang Son province, at about 2:00 PM on August 14, the Huu Nghi International Border Gate Border Guard Station presided over and coordinated with functional forces to inspect trucks with license plates 99C-178. 43 when vehicles moved from the border gate to the inland.
The car was driven by Mr. Nguyen Van Duc, 39 years old, residing in Dong Giao residential group, Phuong Son ward, Bac Ninh province.
Checking the area behind the driver's seat, functional forces discovered two blue burlap sacks. Inside contained 36 box-shaped blocks, suspected to be 36-tube fireworks per set, manufactured abroad. The total weight of the goods was 51.4 kg.
According to initial confessions, Mr. Duc bought the above firecrackers in China, then hid them on a truck to bring back to Vietnam for use.
Huu Nghi International Border Gate Border Guard Station is coordinating with relevant forces to examine exhibits, continue to investigate and handle the case according to legal regulations.
