On August 17, speaking with reporters, Mr. Bui Quoc Khanh - Director of the Lang Son Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board said that at exactly 9:00 a.m. on August 19, the Provincial Sports Complex Project (including the Central Stadium and Multi-purpose Gymnasium) will officially start construction, simultaneously with 80 projects across the country.
According to Mr. Khanh, up to now, the project has completed the clearance of 2.6 hectares of clean land, qualified to organize the groundbreaking ceremony. It is noted that in the area of Khon Pat village, the old Mai Pha commune (now Dong Kinh ward), preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony are being urgently deployed.
" Basically, all stages are ready. Immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony, site clearance will continue to be accelerated to soon complete the project and put into operation," Mr. Khanh emphasized.
The Lang Son Provincial Sports Complex project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 2218 dated December 10, 2024, with a total investment of more than 500 billion VND, invested by the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board.
The project has a scale of using 29 hectares of land, constructing 11 main works, including:
Group of works on an area of 11.7 hectares: Multi-purpose gymnasium, Athletes' Housing, Sports Training House, Football Training ground, Outdoor practice ground, Wastewater Treatment Station, Transformer Station.
Group of works on an area of 17.3 hectares: Central Stadium, Experts' Housing, Square, Parking lot.
In particular, the Multi-purpose Gymnasium is designed with 3 floors, a construction area of 7,063m2, a total floor area of 14,000m2, a capacity of 3,000 fixed seats and 1,000 mobile seats, serving many sports such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, futsal, table tennis, martial arts...
The sports training center consists of 2 1-storey buildings, with a construction area of 2,220m2. The athlete housing area, Dining House and Hall can accommodate 300 people (athletes, coaches, referees), with a total floor area of 5,620m2.
The outdoor sports area includes 1 artificial turf football practice ground, 4 tennis courts with a 1,000-seat grandstand, 1 basketball court and 1 volleyball court. In addition, there is a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 250m3/day and night along with auxiliary technical infrastructure.
The project aims to build a modern sports complex, meeting the needs of sports development of Lang Son province and city in the coming time, and at the same time replacing the seriously degraded Dong Kinh Stadium.
The joint construction in this phase includes 80 typical projects, expected to contribute to the socio-economic development of localities and inter-regional areas across the country.
